It’s always so exciting when someone asks you to shoot their engagement proposal. The few times we’ve done it have been very different but always high anticipation and fun. When Jamie asked me to act as a tourist until he popped the question we were approached by many of the excited patrons exploring the newly opened Japanese Gardens at Frederick Meijer Gardens. They ended up in a challenging location which required some split second changes that still told a great story in photographs.

After Jamie popped the question and revealed that I wasn’t just some guy photographing plants, they went out to get a surprise congratulations from their families who both came from out of state to celebrate Art Prize and this big surprise!
With such a big occasion we did some fast family photos and then played around in the gardens for a little while.
